“I like pizza. I like to go fishing. I love music!” Marilyn Fernandez opens her show by the telling the audience she is like any other 23 year old.  However this happy, beautiful and talented young lady from Fresno has a few other interests: She already enjoyed a hit video on Latin MTV En Espanol and VHUNO. She has appeared before thousands of adoring fans at hundreds of concerts. She has performed with orchestras and on television.

Marilyn Fernandez is poised for international fame. She has recorded three albums of very appealing music – over 30 songs – without the support of a major record company.

Her first release – “La Que Peridio” was played on over 300 radio stations and generated strong sales and recognition for Marilyn. Her video is still one of the most played on VHUNO & MTV En Espanol. Marilyn Fernandez has played before huge crowds at Fiesta Broadway in Los Angeles and sang with the Beverly Hills Symphony in its first celebration of Latin culture. She has shared the stage with several major entertainers including Gloria Trevi, Lucero, Pablo Montero, Alvaro Torres and many others.

Marilyn is completely at ease on stage and her audience loves her. “I enjoy the travel and especially all the wonderful people who come to see us perform,” she says. “Mostly, I enjoy being able to share the music I love with people around the world.”

A supporter of her community, Marilyn Fernandez has also donated her talents to help raise funds for many worthy causes, including participating in a fundraiser for a cause supported by actor Edward James Olmos that provides arts education to students in Coalinga, California.

Marilyn’s music reflects her California upbringing. She is equally comfortable singing in Spanish and English; she likes Alternative Rock, Hip-hop and American Top 40 music just as much as she likes Spanish ballads and dance music. She adds her own flavors of Cumbia, Norteno, and Caribbean rhythms to very danceable songs. “Great music knows no language barriers,” says Fernandez.

Her current album, “La Carretera,” on RF Records includes the popular club mix “Mentiroso,” a Spanish dance tune that appeals to everyone who likes rhythmic music.

There are many styles of Latin music, yet Marilyn has demonstrated wide appeal in the Latino community, reaching California Chicanos, Texas Tex-Mex, Caribbean, Puerto Rican & Mexican fans with her catchy songs.

Yet for all her touring and personal appearances, Marilyn’s biggest satisfaction comes from her family. She recalls that her most rewarding performing experience was her first big show when she looked out to the audience and saw her mother smiling in the front row.

The current CD from Marilyn Fernandez is entitled “La Carretera” and is available by the RF Records Label.  Her personal manager and talent booker may be contacted by calling 559-875-7466.
